The Process Engineer is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and overall manufacturing performance. As a technical resource for production, this role identifies opportunities to optimize processes, reduce scrap and rework, improve throughput, and lower operating costs while ensuring products consistently meet or exceed customer expectations. The Process Technician analyzes quality data, customer feedback, and complaint trends to implement sustainable process improvements, supports equipment and process optimization, and leads capital (CAPEX) projects from concept through successful implementation. This position works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver operational excellence and support a culture of continuous improvement.
- Foster and enforce a zero-harm safety culture for all employees and contractors, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Lead the operation and continuous improvement of departmental systems, including daily performance tracking, maintenance strategies, and reliability initiatives.
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams to evaluate, initiate actions, and improve process performance, including scrap, rework, and equipment efficiency.
- Support in other areas, as necessary new product implementation and engineering initiatives (e.g., New Product Development, Technical Releases, FEA, system upgrades).
- Analyze production data and develop improvement plans to enhance throughput, quality, and cost performance.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions related to process issues and customer complaints.
- Use Six Sigma Methodology to drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase customer satisfaction and reduce defects.
- Design and qualify new products and processes, including evaluation of new raw materials and technologies.
- Drive modernization by developing machine and process designs for new and existing product lines, replacing obsolete equipment and improving system reliability, continuity, and performance.
- Lead and manage capital (CAPEX) and expense projects end-to-end, including scope development, justification, vendor selection, payback analysis, MOC execution, CER preparation, installation, execution of work, and approval of payments for invoices.
- Provide training and maintain technical documentation (ISO procedures, work instructions process sheets, etc.).
- Lead projects that improve safety, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Support the planning and execution of plant shutdowns, including coordination, field walkthroughs, and risk mitigation planning.

- 5-7 years of experience in process engineering or plastics
- Experience with polymer processing such as extrusion or compression molding.
- Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks desired.
- Demonstrated communication expertise, including strong written and verbal skills with the ability to effectively present technical information to diverse audiences.
- Strong leadership and project manager experience with a proven ability to collaborate across functions and build effective working relationships.
- Solid mechanical aptitude, including the ability to read, interpret, and apply blueprints, and industrial equipment understanding.
- Working knowledge of industrial equipment, with an understanding of system interactions within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem solving, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing demands effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, to support reporting, analysis, and documentation.
- Proven leadership capability, with a track record of influencing teams, driving results, and supporting continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), and other continuous improvement / problem solving tools.
- Proven problem-solving capabilities, including root cause analysis, issue identification, and implementation of effective corrective actions.
- Demonstrated project management experience, with the ability to lead initiatives from concept through execution and completion.
- Understanding of plant utility and support systems, ensuring operational reliability and efficiency.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards, including OSHA requirements, Management of Change (MOC) processes, and applicable industry standards.
The salary range for this position is $70,000-$90,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
