Gelest, Inc., part of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group, is hiring a Maintenance Helper to join our team in Morrisville, PA. The Maintenance Helper is tasked with performing entry-level, yet highly diversified, duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. This role supports the site’s business goals and objectives by adhering to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes.
- Install and maintain production machines and facility equipment.
- Provide emergency repairs during production and perform scheduled maintenance during machine service.
- Perform basic machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Utilize fundamental mechanic skills including construction, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, utility, fabrication, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders for required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Perform various maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
- Identify faulty operations or materials and report to proper supervision.
- Adhere to company and OSHA safety regulations and maintain clean work areas.
- Other duties as assigned.

- High school diploma/GED, completion of a craft apprenticeship, or equivalent education and production maintenance experience.
- 0-4 years of manufacturing experience; basic mechanical and industrial skills, with some PLC and HVAC experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, blueprints, and procedures. Capable of writing reports, scopes of work, and specifications.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions, and interpret technical instructions in various forms.
- Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
- Noise levels can be loud.
- Requires talking, hearing, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
- Must frequently lift/move items over 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required.
- May require use of OSHA respiratory protection and PPE.
- The salary range for this position is $20 - $26. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
