Mitsubishi Chemical Carbon Fiber and Composites (MCCFC) is composed of several companies, but at its core there are two. In April 2013, two California Companies, Grafil, a carbon fiber manufacturer in Sacramento and Newport Adhesives and Composites, a prepreg manufacturer in Irvine, were merged to create Mitsubishi Rayon Carbon Fiber and Composites (MRCFAC); then in 2017, we re-branded to MCCFC. Since our merge, we have made multiple acquisitions within the United States. In addition to these acquisitions, we have continued to improve and expand our current facility’s capabilities. Carry out maintenance as requested by Maintenance/Production supervisors. Maintain and repair of industrial and PLC equipment. Trouble shoot and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and electronic components.: Responsible for the maintenance, calibration, installation and repair of various control instruments and electrical equipment designated by the Maintenance Manager. Responsible for maintaining related ISO requirements of all Process Controls and Instruments. Will provide emergency, preventative and routine maintenance support to the operations departments in a machine-intensive, industrial environment. Provide internal customer support, perform analytical troubleshooting, provide education to other technicians, collect analyze and perform trend analysis on equipment downtime/frequency/problem data, guide other technicians or support personnel in repair efforts, assist in procurement of equipment, repair parts and provide overall support for all aspects of manufacturing operations. Maintain accurate logs of work carried out. Complete all required training. Work irregular and extended hours during plant shutdowns. The duties and schedule may be amended at the discretion of management at any time to reflect changing business conditions or requirements at MCCFC.
- Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance as requested by the Maintenance or Production Supervisors.
- Complete an accurate log of all work carried out with detailed descriptions of the problem and corrective action taken.
- Attend all required internal and external technical training classes.
- Work in a safe manner with particular attention to the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment, Lockout/Tagout Procedures, Confined Space restrictions, and Hot Work requirements.
- Satisfactorily complete all training required by OSHA, DOT, County Hazardous Waste Department, and the Local Fire Department.
- Provide training for new employees and skill block personnel as required by management.
- Follow the personal conduct code as written in the Employee Handbook.
- During plant shutdowns, employees may be required to work irregular and extended hours. May be required to wear full-face respirators or fresh air masks.
- Always exhibit exemplary conduct in dealing with other MCCFC employees, and any outside contacts. Contribute to a healthy, positive, and safe environment. Promote self as a team member.
- May be assigned, and be expected to perform to acceptable standards, any other relevant related duties as required by management.
- Identify recurring equipment issues and support efforts to reduce downtime, improve uptime, and drive continuous improvement.
- Proactively identify potential equipment or system concerns and escalate or address them before impacting operations.
Education
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Technical training or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial electrical controls and instrumentation.
- Read and understand technical drawing and schematics.
- Knowledge of computers and software.
Specialized knowledge/skills/abilities for performance of job
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures
- Ability to wear a full-face respirator and/or fresh air mask
- Must pass a pulmonary function test
- Electrical and Mechanical theory and application.
- May be required to workdays or nights, 8-hour shift.
- Will be included in on-call rotation for weekend support.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems including PLCs, Ladder Logic, Relay Logic, and Motor Control. Familiarity with Rockwell / Allen Bradley PLC, Electronics, and Motor Controls preferred.
- The hourly range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
